3:50 The retarded transition from the chorus into the last verse with Mike‘s key octave and Phil‘s dry single beat is so pleasing…
Phil‘s pocket is just amazing 😊
Fantastic bass
So sad he's no longer here with us...always in spririt my brutha!!!
I really love Level 42 sunce 1986, but I've find out that this song (one of my L42 favorites) is very similar in its first phrase to the first phrase of 1981 The Tubes' "Don't want to wait anymore"..
The feel of music is soul enough 🎵🎵🎵🌈❤
I used to hold my son in my arms and sing LEVEL 42 songs to him - he's 34 now and absolutely loves this band 🤓
I could listen to this all day!!❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸. Love that guitar 🎸. RIP Mr. Tisdale!!🌹🌹🌹🌹🎼🎼🎼
Beautiful
..looks like a VERY Cool nod to Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman", also in the same state. 🙂
Heard this yesterday and I love EW&F.....Great great rendition RIP brother ❤
Fantastica canzone di uno dei migliori gruppi di sempre,,
great track, love it
❤
They were always 'reknown' for the bass in their music (Rightly so) but the 'Tinkling of the Ivories' at the start is a thing beauty!
La classe top gun trop fort
Still waiting to hear Level 42 on the radio here in Australia after emigrating from UK in '91.........
Fall of 19 years old 1989 first days of college. In the car waiting for classes. Thank you for memories.
Cosmic song
Thanks for posting....I've been looking for this for years. Used to hear it on Towson State University radio WTMD, about 1992 I think.
I love this band, Mark really knows how to slap and sing!! 😀👍
❤
So cool to hear this song again after so many years.
KoolandtheGang would be soooo honored 🎶🙏🏻❤️😻
I can’t believe I was 13 when I got the True Colours Album on Cassette.. It was for me the last album before they, not sold out but just upped the tempo and the world noticed the album World Machine and level 42 took off.
One of my favourite Level 42 tracks
The best: L42
That chord at 2'27"
✌️
Found this band when stationed in Germany back in 83. Collected their catalog in vinyl and on cd. A few dvds as well. Love'em!!!!! Gary Husband was a great replacement drummer!!
The tone of this whole album is so good, nice and dark and this is the standout track.
What is a Kansas City milkman?
The Kansas City milkman is a metaphor for The simple Man who doesn't know, or doesn't care to know about what's really going on behind the scenes in today's corrupt political power structure. do you really want to know how deep the corruption goes??? Maybe the truth would irreparably make you lose faith in the human race. The Kansas City milkman doesn't know the truth, and maybe that's a good thing for his sanity.
I had to Dig for this .. This mid-century novel by Reynolds Packard chronicles the world of an international news agency set in Paris, France. Why then the title? As the seasoned vet coaches the young and hungry cub reporter, "And remember, you are writing so it can be understood by the Kansas City Milkman. If the Kansas City Milkman can't understand it, the dispatch is badly written."
goodness,...
Still today...
Slamming rhythm section, strong instrumental break and fun storytelling. A standout track on one of Level 42s lesser offerings.
One of their best album tracks ever! I think it would have made for a great video!
I think this was one of their best albums. The period before turning more commercial. At this point I think they encountered a fork in the road. Phil Gould is a nice chap, actually responds to messages on twitter. He said people don't realise how hard they worked. Enough said.!
'Lasso The Moon' by keyboard player Mike Lindup is one of the real highlights of Level 42's underrated 1991 album 'Guaranteed'. Bizarrely, it wasn't even put on the original LP version, it was only included on the CD and Cassette editions as a bonus track at the time. Crazy!
You are correct! 🎯
Still listening 2023 ❤️
Still replying in 2026
como "manejö" el bajo de principio a fin el señor King......increible
Just a masterpiece 🤷🏻♀️
In the states Mtv music television included the single, Something About You. This greatly helped Level 42 find more exposure to an audience in the us.
Love this music. It brings back memories of the good times
Beautiful
My favorite bought this CD in 1996 when it came out
Def one of their top three tracks ever, on their best album ever.
Just an awesome song! Can't help but dance to it. 80s music at its finest.
Amazing amazing lyrics. I was in art school at the time and couldn't believe what I was hearing
Stuck inside my Harvard box, behind the door the Bauhaus locked 😊 great great lyrics
Awesome version!!!
Yeah baby
